What is Novatech?

What is Novatech?
Novatech is an international conference organised in Lyon every three years on strategies and solutions for sustainable urban water management, with a focus on urban stormwater.

This 11th edition of the conference, co-organised by the Graie and the Metropolis of Lyon, will be held at our exciting new venue, ISARA, from 3 to 7 July 2023

A bilingual event

French and English are the two official languages.
Simultaneous translation is provided in both languages for all sessions and during technical visits.

What does Novatech offer?

Novatech brings together professionals from a diverse range of disciplines

It allows French and international scientists, policy-makers and  technicians to present, discover and discuss the latest research,  innovations and outlooks, as well as share their experiences. It is a chance to meet the leading international specialists and practitioners.

Novatech offers a doorway to a common culture on urban water

Through a number of exciting Keynote speakers, including an urban planner and an architect, to build the link between a city’s form, infrastructure and its water.
Through the bringing together of complementary professions, including a mentoring program and career workshops focused on Young Water Professionals (YWP). And lastly, by providing a doorway to the general public, with the gala night conference.

Novatech builds bridges between disciplines and approaches

By welcoming water professionals (e.g. specialists in drainage and aquatic environments), urban planning and design professionals (urban  planners and designers, strategic planners, landscape architects,  architects and sociologists), who all work in some way on land planning and  management; Novatech supports the building of a more integrated water  management culture, contributes to knowledge sharing and encourages the  evolution of practices in all disciplines who play a role in managing water in the urban landscape.
